The aim of this course is to provide mountain light infantry and light infantry platoon / company commanders with specific knowledge of movement, survival and planning of operations in mountain terrain in summer conditions. The course is designed for NATO and Partner members requiring the particular knowledge and skills necessary to safely and efficiently operate in the complex terrain and climatic conditions of the mountain environment. 

Attendance:

A. Rank Level: OR 5-9, OF 1-2.
B. Language Proficiency: English SLP 2222 - STANAG 6001
C. Prerequisite Courses: The course participants are requested to complete two e-Learning courses provided by NATO MW COE prior to attending the course:

  • Basic Mountain Environment Characteristics;
  • Combat Functions in Mountain Warfare.

Arrival of all participants is expected on 5NOV23. Course in-processing will be conducted on Sunday (a day before course beginning) between 14.00 and 22.00 hrs in Poljče. All the participants should be prepared to begin classes on Monday morning at 08.00 hrs.

Security Classification: The program is not classified and is releasable to the public. The course will be held in English language. There will be no translation services available during the course.

Dress Code: The appropriate dress for the course is combat/battle dress uniform, suitable for the season of the year, and enabling participants to work in scheduled activities. A list of needed equipment will be sent to the course applicants, when the details related to the attendance will be available.
